Empowering Tomorrow's Innovators: University Leaders Attend First LEGO League and AI Hackathon

We are thrilled to share the remarkable achievements witnessed at the finale of the First LEGO League (FLL) and AI Hackathon, held at Intare Arena in Rusororo. Dr. Phillip and Mr. Larry Paul were honored to join the esteemed guests, including His Excellency President Paul Kagame and the First Lady, Jeannette Kagame, in celebrating the ingenuity of young minds in advancing robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Rwanda and across Africa.
The event showcased the remarkable innovations and talents of participating students, who demonstrated their prowess in robotics and AI through hands-on projects and competitions. President Kagame and the First Lady, recognizing the importance of nurturing innovation from a young age, generously donated laptops to all the competitors, underscoring their commitment to supporting and empowering the next generation of leaders and innovators. In his remarks, President Kagame emphasized the significance of robotics and AI in fostering fast and sustainable development, highlighting the importance of science, engineering, and technology in shaping the future.
The presence of His Excellency and the First Lady served as a testament to their unwavering dedication to education and innovation in Rwanda. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and participants of the FLL and AI Hackathon, including Nyanza-based College du Christ-Roi Team 1 and the Federal Government College of Nigeria, for their outstanding achievements. Special recognition goes to Ecole Secondaire de Kayonza for their victory in the AI Hackathon. As an organization committed to promoting education and innovation, we are inspired by the passion and determination exhibited by the students throughout the competition.
